The stoop is our public contact page — not a form, not a chat widget. Reach the desk by post, telephone, or email during published hours. We answer method and correction queries in plain language.

How to reach us

Email is the most reliable channel for non-urgent queries — include enough context for us to answer without back-and-forth. Telephone during desk hours connects you to the front desk line; if no one answers, leave a brief message and we return calls the same day during hours.

Postal mail arrives at the letterbox on Emerald Hill Road. Registered mail and legal service are accepted Mon–Fri 10:00–22:00 SGT at the address above. We do not publish staff mobile numbers on this site.

What we answer

We answer questions about methods, casts, hearths, corrections, privacy, and cookies. We do not provide personalised advice about medical, legal, or financial decisions based on our reporting. We do not confirm unpublished tips or rumour.

Partnership and licensing enquiries should include organisation name and proposed use. We decline requests that would compromise editorial independence described on The House.

Visiting Emerald Hill

The upstairs editorial room is not open to walk-in visitors. The tiled stoop and five-foot way are public space — please respect neighbours. Orchard Road is one block away; the nearest MRT stations are Somerset and Newton, depending on your approach.

Delivery riders and postal workers use the ground-level letterbox — do not block the stoop when stopping briefly on Emerald Hill Road.

We do not offer walk-in editorial meetings without appointment. Legal notices may be served at the postal address above during business hours.
